About Us¶
Welcome to Retro Console Wiki.
We are a group of passionate retro gaming enthusiasts and hardware technology experts, deeply influenced by the DIY and repair culture of Akihabara, Japan. Over the years, we have spent countless hours searching for "Junk" (damaged/abandoned) game consoles in stores like Hard Off, and bringing them back to life with our own hands.
The purpose of this Wiki is simple: to prevent the art of retro console repair from gradually disappearing.
As modern devices become increasingly difficult to repair, we aim to provide the most hardcore, accurate, and practical repair guides for classic consoles from Nintendo, Sony, and others. From replacing IPS screens on GBA to diagnosing motherboard shorts on Switch, we share real parameters, component costs, and step-by-step disassembly tutorials.
Save your consoles. Keep the pixels blinking.
